Frequently asked questions
Can it change text that is already in the PDF?
Yes, line by line: pick Edit text, click a line, and retype it. The line is replaced in place with its size, color, and font style matched, and the panel lets you change any of those, including the font, before you apply. The replacement is drawn at the original letters rather than at the edge of the clickable box, so a rewritten line keeps the left margin it shares with the lines above and below it and the downloaded file matches what the preview showed. PDFs do not store paragraphs like word processors, so surrounding text does not automatically reflow. Widen the box or use shorter text when a replacement is much longer.
Which fonts can I use?
31 fonts. Helvetica, Times, and Courier are built into every PDF viewer, and 28 open-licence families are embedded into your file so they look the same everywhere: Roboto, Open Sans, Lato, Montserrat, Poppins, Nunito, Work Sans, Source Sans 3, PT Sans, Oswald, Lora, Merriweather, Libre Baskerville, EB Garamond, Crimson Text, PT Serif, Source Serif 4, Courier Prime, Source Code Pro, JetBrains Mono, Roboto Mono, Great Vibes, Dancing Script, Pacifico, Caveat, Lobster, Satisfy, and Shadows Into Light. Bold and italic are offered where the family has those faces. Only the characters you type are embedded, so a page of edits adds a few kilobytes, not a font file.
Is the redaction real?
Yes. Page content, form fields, comments, stamps, and attached files that overlap a redaction are removed from the PDF rather than hidden behind a rectangle. Copy-paste and text extraction cannot recover the removed page content.
Can I fill in a PDF form?
Yes. Choose Fill form and the editor lists the fields the PDF actually declares, so you type into the document's own fields and the result stays a real filled form rather than text laid on top of it. Locked fields are shown as locked instead of silently swallowing what you type.
Can I add an image to a PDF?
Yes. Choose Add image, pick a PNG, JPG, WebP, or GIF, and drag a box where it should go. The picture keeps its proportions inside that box rather than being stretched, and one picture can be stamped onto several pages, which is how most people add a logo or a scanned signature.
Can I sign a PDF?
Three ways. Draw it with a mouse, trackpad, or stylus and it is saved as clean vector ink. Type your name and it is set in a real handwriting typeface, embedded into the file so it looks the same for everyone. Or place a photo of your signature with Add image. Nothing is uploaded to a signature service and no account is involved.
Do sticky notes stay editable?
Sticky notes are saved as real PDF comments, so compatible PDF readers can open the note and show its text. Shapes, drawings, and added text are applied to the page itself.
Are there limits?
One PDF up to 50 MB and up to 500 pages, up to 200 changes per pass, and text boxes up to 2000 characters, with the same 2000 character ceiling on each form field you fill. Pictures you place have their own limits: up to 10 per pass, 20 MB each, and the PDF and its pictures together up to 200 MB. Run another pass if you need more.
