How to split a PDF or pull out certain pages
Add the PDF
One file, up to 50 MB. Every page appears as a thumbnail you can tap.
Choose the pages
Tap the pages you want to pull out, or use all and clear. If it is easier to type them, the box underneath takes ranges like 1-3, single pages like 5, and open-ended ones like 8- for everything from page 8 onward.
Say how it should come back
One PDF puts the selected pages in a single file. Separate files gives each range its own PDF inside a ZIP, which is what you want when you are splitting a document into parts rather than extracting from it.

Frequently asked questions
How do I split a PDF into just the pages I want?
Type them as a comma-separated list: 1-3, 5, 8-10 gives you pages 1 to 3, page 5, and pages 8 to 10. A number on its own is a single page, and an open-ended 8- runs from page 8 to the last page, whatever the document turns out to be. Spaces around the commas are fine but not inside a range, so 1-3, 5 works while 1 - 3 is rejected as invalid. If you would rather not type, tapping pages in the preview grid fills the same box for you.
Can I get each page or range as its own file?
Yes. Choose separate files and every comma-separated range becomes its own PDF, delivered together as one ZIP. The names say what is inside them: a single page 3 arrives as 01_page-3.pdf and the range 5-8 as 02_pages-5-8.pdf, with the number in front holding the order you asked for and keeping two identical ranges from colliding. The ZIP is stored rather than compressed, because PDF content already is, so packing it costs almost nothing.
Is there a limit on pages or file size?
There is no page limit, and a single range can cover the whole document. The caps are one PDF per job and 50 MB for that file. Your page numbers are then checked twice: once for syntax the moment you submit, and once against the real page count after the document is open, so asking for 5-99 in a twelve-page file comes back telling you the file has 12 pages and that the range runs past the end, rather than quietly handing you a short result.
Does splitting change the pages themselves?
No. Every page you keep is copied into the new file as it is rather than re-rendered, so text stays selectable text, scans keep the resolution they arrived with, and nothing is re-compressed on the way through. The upload itself is never modified either: a split always produces a new file and leaves your original alone.
What if the PDF has a password?
It depends which kind. A file that asks for a password before it will open is refused, with a message telling you to remove the password first, so run it through Unlock PDF and split the result. A file that opens freely but carries owner restrictions, the kind that block printing or copying, opens here and splits normally. The two look much the same in a PDF reader, which is worth knowing before you assume the split has failed.
What happens to my file afterwards?
It is deleted from our server automatically about an hour after you upload it, and so are the split results, whether or not you downloaded them and whatever state the job ended in. That hour is a 60-minute retention window enforced by a cleanup that runs every ten minutes, rather than a figure of speech.
